Opening on Main st Placerville
Marco Cappelli, a seasoned vintner with over 40 years of experience, is bringing a unique wine experience to Main Street Placerville, combining California flavors with old-world techniques. After spending more than two decades in Napa, he and his wife Belinda chose El Dorado County due to its exceptional local wines and distinctive soils. They purchased a vineyard in Somerset and later transitioned to consulting for local wineries. In their new venture on Main Street, they plan to establish a bonded winery where they will ferment wine on-site and offer varietals from local wineries. Marco's focus will be on Angelica, a sought-after fortified wine, made by adding brandy to grape juice to preserve natural sugars. The winery aims to provide high-quality, distinctive wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. Their unconventional approach includes allowing guests to taste wine directly from casks and bottle it on the spot. This dream project, 15 years in the making, is set to open its doors in time for the upcoming holiday season. Read the full article: Micro-winery to open doors on Main Street
