2019 cabernet sauvignon

Complex, plum, black cherry, licorice, dried sage

This 100% Cab Sauv is from a small foothill vineyard located at 2,100 ft elevation on deep alluvial soils.  When young, this wine was exceptionally big and tannic, but 4 years of barrel age has softened the rough edges, tamed the exuberant blue-fruit aromas and created layer upon layer of complexity and richness.

angelica

Berries, dried figs, roasted nuts, molasses, and leather.

Made from 140 year-old Mission grapevines from Rinaldi Vineyards in the Fiddletown AVA  of Amador County. Angelica is a style of wine that dates back to the Mission period of  California, the mid 1770's. It is made from vines originally brought from the Canary Islands  as Listan Prieto and later dubbed "Mission" because of its association with the Church.  Unlike most wines, Angelica is made with little or no fermentation; Brandy is added to the  juice or must, bringing the alcohol level up to 18-20%. The young wine is then aged in  barrel, in some cases many years before release. Our Angelica is a blend of numerous  vintages and has an average age of 9 years.

 $40/500 ml bottle - $25/refill

fortified muscat

Apricot, orange-rind, honeysuckle, butterscotch
